Discovering Your Renewable Energy Within

Hey everyone, welcome back to the Maximum Success Podcast! I’m Chris Bourke, and today, I want to talk about energy.

Not the kind that comes from your morning coffee or pre-workout drink—I’m talking about the fuel that powers your life, the energy that keeps you moving toward your goals even when things get tough.

Because here’s the thing—most people treat their energy like a non-renewable resource. They burn through it, run themselves into the ground, and wonder why they’re exhausted, unmotivated, or stuck.

But what if I told you that you are a renewable energy source? That, just like solar, wind, and hydro power, you have the ability to recharge, regenerate, and sustain your energy for the long haul?

That’s exactly what we’re going to explore today—how to power yourself smarter so you never run on empty.

Let’s dive in.

So, let’s start with solar energy.

You know how solar panels soak up light and turn it into power? Well, we do the same thing—but instead of sunlight, we absorb the energy of our environment, our thoughts, and the people we surround ourselves with.

You ever notice how some people just radiate energy? And then there are others who suck the life out of you the moment they start talking? Yeah—energy is contagious. You reflect what you absorb.

If you’re constantly feeding your mind negativity—whether it’s from the news, toxic people, or your own self-doubt—it’s like putting a solar panel in the shade and expecting it to generate power.

But here’s the thing—even on cloudy days, solar panels still collect energy. And so do we.

So let’s make this real. Think about your environment for a second. What’s fueling you, and what’s draining you?

💡 Try this:

  • Start your day with intention. Read something inspiring, listen to an uplifting podcast, or write down one thing you’re excited about.
  • Do an “energy audit.” Pay attention to how certain people, habits, or even social media make you feel. If something is constantly draining you—limit it.
  • Surround yourself with energy-givers. People, music, books—whatever fills you up and keeps you going.

Next up—wind energy.

Wind turbines don’t sit around waiting for the perfect conditions. They move with whatever wind is available. And that’s how momentum works.

A lot of people think they need to feel motivated before they take action. But that’s backwards. Action creates motivation.

Think about it. Have you ever forced yourself to start something—maybe a workout, a project, or even cleaning the house—only to find that once you got moving, it wasn’t so bad? That’s because motion generates energy. The hardest part is always starting.

So if you’re feeling stuck, just move.

💡 Here’s what helps:

  • Set ridiculously small goals. If you don’t feel like working out, just commit to putting on your shoes. If you don’t want to start a big project, just write one sentence.
  • Create “activation triggers.” Link a new habit to something you already do. For example, “After I make my morning coffee, I’ll write down my top three goals for the day.”
  • Change your environment. If you’re feeling sluggish, go for a quick walk, put on energizing music, or shift to a different workspace. Just get some movement happening.

Now, let’s talk about hydro energy.

Water never stops moving. It flows over obstacles, carves through mountains, and adapts to whatever’s in its way. That’s exactly how resilience works.

Because let’s be real—challenges are going to happen. You’ll face setbacks. You’ll doubt yourself. You’ll hit roadblocks. But the people who succeed aren’t the ones who avoid problems; they’re the ones who keep moving despite them.

💡 Try this next time you hit a challenge:

  • Reframe setbacks as detours, not dead ends. Instead of thinking, This isn’t working, ask yourself, What’s another way to get where I want to go?
  • Adopt a “next move” mindset. If something fails, don’t dwell on it—pivot. Adjust the plan and keep flowing.
  • Keep your energy moving. If you feel stuck, switch tasks, take a break, or shift your focus. Just don’t let yourself become stagnant.

And finally—the most powerful energy of all—geothermal energy.

Geothermal energy comes from deep within the Earth, a heat source that never runs out. And in the same way, you have an internal power source that’s stronger than anything happening on the surface.

That power is your purpose. Your why. The thing that fuels you when everything else fades.

If you’re feeling drained, if you’re feeling like you’ve lost your spark, it’s not an energy problem—it’s a purpose problem.

💡 Here’s how to reconnect to your inner power:

  • Write down your “why.” Why did you start this journey? Why does this matter to you? Put it somewhere visible and read it daily.
  • Use emotional fuel. If you’re struggling to push forward, remind yourself who you’re doing this for. Whether it’s your family, your future self, or the impact you want to leave—tap into that deeper meaning.
  • Protect your core energy. Avoid distractions that pull you away from your bigger purpose. Stay focused on what truly matters.

So, let’s bring this all together.

Your energy—your drive, your momentum—it’s not something you just have or run out of. It’s something you create.

☀️ Absorb the right mindset and environment, like solar energy.
💨 Keep moving, even when you don’t feel like it, like wind energy.
🌊 Stay adaptable and resilient, like water.
🔥 And most importantly, stay connected to your purpose, like geothermal energy.

Now, ask yourself—which of these energy sources do you need to strengthen?

Think about it. Reflect on it. And if this episode hit home for you, let me know—send me a message, tag me on social, or share it with someone who needs this.

And remember—success isn’t about working harder. It’s about powering yourself smarter.
