A few years back the documentary on the ‘Law of Attraction’ was a hot topic.
It was designed to teach us that the world revolves around attracting things into your life that you want just by thinking about them and they would materialise.
The process of how it actually works makes total sense. After all, the whole universe revolves around itself, held on track by a magnetic force of attraction and pull, and here we are on Earth being kept on the ground by gravity. The sole reason we don’t float away is due to attraction.
But attraction goes much further than in just a physical sense.
Our mind is one of the most powerful tools we have for attracting objects.
Sure, we can’t physically pull objects such as a car or a boat towards us, however we have the power to create an alignment with the universe which allows us to make our desires materialize.
If you don’t believe this is true, wait until you are hungry one night and suddenly an advertisement for a big juicy burger comes on the television. You almost immediately start salivating as if that burger is going to be on your plate in a few minutes. This kind of advertising is based on the law of attraction, with the advert usually shown right at the time of the day that you are at your weakest…right before dinner time!
This kind of visual law of attraction goes through a process with our brain which makes us want something so bad, that we will drive our car 20 minutes just to get a burger, rather than a 2 minute walk to the refrigerator for something less appealing. The only reason it is less appealing is the marketing.
This same process can also work in your favour rather than against you, especially by creating visual attraction, and the best way to do this is with a Vision Board.
The Vision Board concept is very simple, yet very powerful.
Simply take a blank piece of cardboard large enough to hang on the wall or place somewhere where you can look at it each day.
Now simply relax your mind and think about what you want the most out of life and then once you have these ideas get to work finding images of them. The closer the image to what you want the more likely it will be that you get what you ask for.
Once you have the images, start sticking them to the Vision Board. It may be a new car, your ideal holiday, a special piece of jewellery, or it may be something with no financial value at all, such as going to the beach each day, spending time with the kids, or going to the gym.
Whatever you want, just find the images and as you stick them down think hard about how these could impact your life if you had them. How they would make you feel, and most importantly, how soon you are going to get them.
Having a Vision Board is great, but you also don’t want it hanging on the wall for 20 years!
In order to ensure your Vision Board will work for you, don’t go crazy with too many items. Start with 5 to 10 at the most, and then every day as you wake up, view the board and visualise that item. Do the same every night before you go to bed, ensuring that the first and last thing you think about each day is achieving those dreams.
You’ll find it also gives you the lift you need every morning to work harder, happier and smarter each day, knowing that there is a reward just around the corner, rather than just the daily grind of another day at the office.
You’ll be surprised how easy it really is, and for me personally, I have found around 80% of everything on my wish board has come true, simply due to the power of visualisation and the law of attraction.
Most people go through life telling their friends and themselves that they wish they had this or they wish they had that, but never get them, purely because they can’t visual them with that object in their life. By creating your dreamboard you already own that vision. You have embedded it in your subconscious the moment you stuck it on your vision board.
As you achieve your goals make sure you reassess your vision board and add new goals.
Adding new goals keeps you motivated and give you something to aim for.
So next time that juicy burger ad comes on the TV, think about your vision board and make sure it makes you as hungry for reaching your dreams as that nurger does!
